Public Relations World Congress concludes with reading of 'Dubai Declaration' on professional standards and fostering dialogue

The Dubai Declaration is built on four pillars, each aimed at ensuring best practice throughout the industry. The first calls on PR practitioners to foster the development of a culture of dialogue among all stakeholders, including clients, the media and civil society, to encourage the exchange of ideas and information for the greater good of society. The second pillar calls on the industry to recognise and utilise digital communications in a responsible and effective way to promote the free-flow of information, and ensure that Public Relations is positioned at the forefront of communications. The third pillar urges the industry to contribute to the development of young professionals and promote Public Relations as a rewarding career choice; while the final pillar calls on all PR practitioners to observe the IPRA Code of Conduct as adopted in 2011, and ensure the upholding of best practice throughout the industry.

Lebone Watersport 2011

This Saturday 32 teams of seven people each, were ready to rumble at the Lebone Watersports Event.

An encouraging speech by Wium Adendorff made sure that everyone was up and ready to start the games. A set of 12 games, in which two teams had to battle each other. There were no losers, everyone went home with a great memory ! The atmosphere was wonderful. The combination of water, games, music, dancing and singing led to a sense of unity between all the teams.

During the games, everyone had to opportunity to taste delicious pancakes, boerewors, sweets and ice cold drinks.

Z2A Village and Lebone Village want to thank everyone who helped during the event, without you this would not have been possible.

We all celebrate this beautiful day with our loved ones, but who was Saint Valentine and how did he become the symbol of love?

There are a lot of different legends. Here is one we thought was nice to bring to you.

There once was a priest called Valentine, who served the Romans during the 3rd century, under the Emperor Claudius II. Claudius II decided that young men who were not married made better soldiers than those with a family. Marriages were outlawed for young men. Valentine thought this was a great injustice to all young couples in love. He decided to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. Once he was discovered, Claudius II wanted him dead. On the 14th of February 270 Valentine was decapitated.

Valentine kept on believing in young, true love and this even until his death !

Today is the day we remember Valentine, so we at Z2A Village want you to enjoy your Valentine’s Day with that special person.
